Unique InfoAg Conference program continues to attract ag experts

August 3, 2017, Peachtree Corners, GA, USA - The 2017 InfoAg Conference (https://infoag.org/) held on July 25-27 drew 1,400 attendees to Union Station in St. Louis, MO, USA. The event, started by the International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) more than 20 years ago, brings together experts from all sectors of agriculture, from science and research to extension and technical support.

Dr. Steve Phillips, IPNI director and conference chairman, organizes the scientific agenda for the conference. “We identify timely topics of interest and keep it fresh each year,” said Phillips. “As a scientific organization, it’s important that the foundation remains science based agronomy,” Phillips added.

The conference featured 104 exhibitors and 98 speakers. Sessions covered diverse topics such as nitrogen management, data analyses, precision application, autonomous vehicles/robotics, and hiring and retention.

“The last few years we’ve had sessions on finding the right people,” Phillips said. “How do we build the right team so that consultants have the right mix of strengths to help farmers,” he said.

Phillips receives positive feedback from attendees who are not sure what to expect from the event. “When they find out there is credible science here and practical take home information it makes me proud that we host the event each year,” he said.

The 2018 InfoAg Conference will take place July 17-19 at Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, MO, USA.
