Proper agronomic N management can help reduce or minimize environmental N losses. The following Powerpoint slides were part of a presentation by Dr. Cliff Snyder, IPNI Nitrogen Program Director, to the U.S. EPA Farm, Ranch, and Rural Communities Committee in late February 2009. He explained some of the environmental challenges and successes in managing fertilizer N , and he encouraged increased adoption of Fertilizer BMPs (the Four Rights (4Rs): right source @ the right rate, right time, and right place) as a means to increase N use efficiency and effectiveness, while reducing the risks of environmental impact.
