Dr. Tom Jensen and Dr. Steve Phillips join the staff of IPNI as North American Program Directors


IPNI Americas Group Coordinator, Dr. Paul Fixen, reports that the North American Program gets a major boost this spring with the addition of two new regional directors. Dr. Tom Jensen joins the staff effective May 1 as Northern Great Plains Director, based in the Saskatoon office. Dr. Jensen is a native of Alberta, received his Ph.D. in 1996, and has an impressive record with various responsibilities in research and industry. He succeeds Dr. Adrian Johnston, who is now IPNI Vice President and Asia Group Coordinator.

Dr. Steve Phillips joins the staff on June 1 as Southeast Region Director for the states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He completed his Ph.D. in 1999 and has been with the Eastern Shore Agricultural Research and Extension Center of Virginia Tech since then, most recently as Associate Professor. Dr. Phillips succeeds Dr. Cliff Snyder, who was recently appointed to the new position of Nitrogen Program Director for IPNI.
